8th June, 2020 witnessed another serious attacks on the people of Faduma Koloram in the Gubio District of Borno State by the Boko Haram Terrorists. The killings which reportedly lasted for 6 hours left over 69 people dead and others displaced.
A Civilian Joint Task Force member confirmed that they arrived in the afternoon around 12:00 pm in vehicles and motorcycles, shooting with AK-47, razing the entire village and made away with one thousand two hundred (1,200) cattles and camels.
Naija-best.com gathered that the terrorists attacked the village because they suspected that they had been feeding Nigerian armies details about their location and tracks in the area. They had attacked the village before but couldn’t suppress them as the villagers were also armed, but won them hands down now because they were taken unaware – according to CJFT member who was giving the account of the incident to the Reuters.
Meanwhile, negative comments have been trolling in since the incident. Some in their comments begin to wonder if the same Boko Haram sect that was claimed to have been conquered are still the ones doing the killings or other terrorists.
Recall in 24th December, 2015 when President Mohammadu Buhari said Nigeria had technically defeated Boko Haram? Which of the Boko Haram has been technically defeated and which other ones are involved in these recent killings?
Early this year, FG released 1,400 Boko Haram members who claimed to have repented and Nigerian Army groaned, complaining that the Federal Government was setting their killers free. Their anger and opposing views couldn’t really stopped anything.
Reacting on what some army called ridiculous act, The Cable reported an interview with one of the Nigerian armies: “You wonder why Boko Haram members is on the increase? When we catch and bring them here, some top people will come and start negotiating their release. But, I will tell you, some of these so-called suspects will return to the bush and they were never repentant.”
